Helping Families Help Provider Network (HFHPN)

Are you a clinician who wants to learn more about CRAFT or CRAFT-based approaches? A family leader who is running a CRAFT-based group? A clinical director who wants to bring CRAFT into your program?

Whether you just learned about CRAFT a week ago, or whether you’ve been running a CRAFT-based group in your neck of the woods for the last16 years… as long as you are curious about bringing CRAFT-based approaches into your community somehow… this community is for you!

Just as family members are strengthened by community, support, information, and skills practice, we as providers need those things too! Your investment in your own support and growth is also important, and helps you, the families you work with, and the people they love.

What does HFHPN offer?

HFHPN gives a way for any provider who is interested in CRAFT-based approaches to easily find training opportunities, amplify the work that they are doing, and connect with each other.

There are four different membership levels available.

With the “Active Member” Level, a HFHPN membership offers the closed HFHPN email group for CRAFT-based providers; an almost-monthly “Newerish” group to support providers who are new to the work; a monthly Last-Tuesday Consult group for providers who are interested in bringing in consult, group, or other questions related to CRAFT-based work; special interest groups for particular areas of focus; listings for your CRAFT-based groups, events and/or resources on the HFH website; automatic inclusion in the monthly event newsletter for families for any of your events starting that month or new groups; access to Member-Only pages; and a HFHPN Directory Profile (if you meet criteria) to help family members and other providers find you. On top of all this, you will be supporting the work of maintaining the website… which includes individually responding to requests for resources by family members and providers alike. (The Directory is the resource we use to find CRAFT-based providers when family members write to us requesting help.) The Active Member Level comes with 1 main account and 2 sub-accounts, perfect for individuals or very small organizations.

All of this for $70/year.

The “Active Organization” Level provides the same benefits as Active Member, and increases the number of sub-accounts. Active Organization Member accounts receive 1 main account and up to 9 sub-accounts. As with Sub-accounts receive their own individual logins to the Member Only pages, are added to the HFHPN email group, and receive most of the benefits of the main account (with the exception of their own Directory Profile.) The Active Organization Level is available at $150/year.

The Basic Level is for any provider who wants to support the work behind the site and wants to be a part of the HFHPN email group, but isn’t interested the more intensive offerings. This bare-bones level is available for $40/a year.

Basic Level accounts receive 1 main account and no sub accounts.

The First Year Intro Level provides many of the benefits of the Active Member level, but without the Directory Profile or supporting the site. This is a great level to step into if you are new to CRAFT-based work and want to check out the community… we need more providers doing this work so I want to make the bar as low as possible for you!! Been doing the work for a while but are new to HFHPN? You are welcome to choose this option too!

If you choose this level your first year is free; when your first year is up you can choose Active Member, Active Organization, or Basic at that point. Appreciate the work that goes into the site and community? Upgrade or add Additional Support at any time!

In addition to the levels, add “Additional Support” to your membership to help support the work behind the site even more! The pricing for the Active and Basic Level is meant to be affordable.. and if you are able to contribute more that would be greatly appreciated! Every contribution helps!!

Membership FAQ

  • Information from the Beta Testers ranges between 5 to 10 minutes (tops) for the First Year and Basic Levels Members… and that includes careful reading the Membership Agreements.

    For the Active LeveI Members, if you are creating a Directory Profile in the same sitting, it will take longer, about 25 to 30 minutes total. That said, if you don’t have the time to do the whole thing, you can always set up your Account now and circle back to create your Directory Profile at a different time.

  • The site and community has grown a lot over the last few years, and the work along with it!

    I love the Helping Families Help website and believe in the good it does… and… running the site from the Nov 2018 through Feb 2024 has cost over $11,000 USD out of pocket. That amount includes initially porting it over into Squarespace, the initial redesign, a name change, the upgrade to 7.1, SEO work, domain names, hosting fees, email campaign costs (i.e. the Family Event Newsletter), directory costs, and paying for the good work and time for assistance with answering the emails from families.

    There has absolutely been support along the way… over $6000 USD from contributions from old directory listings, Patreon members, and occasional donations. For which I am incredibly grateful! (Thank you!)

    But there is still a sizable gap. And those numbers don’t take into account the time I put into running the site. (Which is also time I’m not seeing clients.)

    As you can imagine… I spend a lot of time, effort, and intention into doing the work for the website and provider community… and the more it gets utilized by families and providers, the more work there is. This is a fantastic problem to have.

    It’s also one I need help with.

    So that’s where the new HFHPN Membership Program comes in. The paid Memberships are a way of making this website, and this provider community, sustainable for all of us in the long run.

    And, if we can make this sustainable as it is, that will allow me to take on more… to grow it even more.

  • There are several ways that families can find out about your services through Helping Families Help when you choose the Active Level:

    • A listing in the new Directory (you can have several locations for your organization listed under one Membership Profile if you provide in-person services and want to show several addresses).

    • When families write in to HFH for help in finding CRAFT-based resources, Carey responds to them with targeted recommendations based on their family role and location, and she uses the directory to identify resources that are local to them.

    • The ability to list CRAFT-based ongoing groups or time-limited events on our Ongoing Groups and Family Events  pages

    • When groups/events are first posted I add them to my monthly Family Events Newsletter which is sent to over 2400 families monthly, receives an open rate of 47-51% (compared to an industry average of 37%) and a click-through rate of 7-11% (compared to an industry average of 1%). (Comparisons according to Constant Contact's Feb 2024 averages  for open and click through rates for Health and Wellness businesses.) I take these numbers to mean that the newsletter is going to families who really want the information!

    • I also post the Newsletter information on Facebook. Not a ton of followers there (I’m not really active) but it does get posted to a few specific groups for family members.

    • You are welcome to post to the HFHPN email group (listserv) of providers to let folks know what you are offering, if you wish!

    In addition, Members have access to the HFHPN email group community of providers for their own support. First Year Introductory and Active Level Members can attend monthly consult groups and a Newerish group (great for asking other CRAFT-based colleagues questions about outreach suggestions), and join (as well as suggest) special interest groups  (SIGs). These opportunities help you connect with your community of CRAFT-based providers… and the best referrals are from people who know you and admire your work!

HFHPN Community Agreements

Every healthy relationship has boundaries… they are what help us interact in a way that feels respectful, connected, and sustainable for everyone in the long run. And that, essentially, is what these agreements are.

There are two levels of agreements within HFHPN:

  • the Membership Agreements for all HFHPN members and all levels of HFHP membership.

  • the Directory Agreements for any members with a directory profile, including individual providers, organizations, and resources.
